Get to Know Monica Ko, DMD

Why Did You Become a Dentist?
Dr. Ko was an active volunteer in her community which led her to helping at a local dental clinic. It was there, she learned the true importance of oral health and found her passion for dentistry. She has been highly involved in public health since before dental school and made the decision to specialize in Endodontics to better serve her patients.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Ko graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a minor in Healthcare/Social Issues. She pursued her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in Utah at Roseman University, College of Dental Medicine and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a national dental honor society. She was also awarded a National Health Service Corps scholarship to serve patients at a community health center for several years before beginning her residency in Endodontics. Dr. Ko completed her specialty training at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, receiving her Certificate in Endodontics and Master of Science in Dentistry.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Ko enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with her husband, Charlie and daughter, Stella. She also loves to spend the day on the slopes or by the lake with her family and friends.
